Rules for 2023 $160K Flamingo Fish & Marine Bass Trail
· These are the official rules for the 2023 season all contestants must abide by the rules and regulations of the event. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and could lead to future ban of events.
· All local, state and federal rules and laws apply to each and every event. Issued citation during the official event time will result in disqualification. Please understand all local, state and federals rules and laws for Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma prior to fishing an event.
· Any contestant that has ever been found guilty of cheating during a fishing event or tournament may not enter.
· Entry fee per main season event is $305.00 and the championship is $505.00. The $5.00 from each entry goes to the Lake Eufaula Florida Strain Largemouth Stocking Program.
· No Membership Fee
· Must have a valid Oklahoma Fishing License (random check at registration)
· Registration will be held at Flamingo Fish & Marine the Friday before every event.
· Each team will be given a boat number decal to place visible on the driver console windshield. If no windshield must be displayed on the console visible to staff and other contestants.
· Limited to the first 100 boats registered. Registration for the 2023 season will open on Sept 1st, 2022.
· Teams registering for all 4 regular season event have priority until Dec. 1st, 2022
· December 1st, 2022 registration opens to team entering individual events.
· Cut off for registration is the Sunday prior to the event.
· 100 plus percent payback with 1 in 10 being paid back during the regular season events and 1 in 5 being paid back at the championship.
· In case of a tie, tie breaker will be the number of fish weighed in (example 5 fish bag would break the tie over a 4 fish bag). If still a tie money will be combined and split.
· At least one team member must be 18 years of age or older prior to the first event of the year. Any minor must have a parental/guardian release on file.
· NO ALTERNATES OR SUBSTITUES, you must fish with the same partner for the entire 2023 season. You may fish solo if you partner cannot make it.
· A team consist of a captain and one team mate (2 person max per boat)
· A team may buy into one event. That team will receive last place points for that event.
· Team must fish all 4 regular season events to qualify for the two day championship.
· Off limits period for fishing the lake will be the week of the event from Monday at 12:01 am to Thursday at 6:00 am. The lake will become hot at 6:01 am Thursday.
· Event official time will be from the start of the first flight until polygraphs are completed.
· Call out and Check in boat will be located at the wake break. Automatic disqualification for being late.
· Once checked in idle to the Nichols Point area to weigh your teams fish in. You may not load your boat until your team has weighed in.
· All events are single boat take offs from the wake break in Eufaula Cove.
· We will use the Weather Channel app. If the winds are called to be sustained at 20MPH or higher the event will become a trailering event. (Notifications will be sent out to team captains)
· If the event cannot be held on that date we will move to fish on Sunday.
· Team captain will have to have a w-9 on file before fishing an event and is responsible for the taxes on any prize money.
· NO ALCHOL OR MIND-ALTERING DRUGS, INCLUDING MEDICAL MARIJUANA may be used during official event hours.
· 3 Polygraphs will be given randomly to prize winners at all events
Both members of the team must be present to take polygraphs. If team members are not available they forfeit their winnings.
· Please don’t cheat!
· Protest must be done in writing within 10 minutes of the close of the scales.
· 5 bass limit (largemouth, black, smallmouth, or Kentucky) are the only scoreable species. Minimum length limit will be 14 inches. Please note you will be given documentation showing you and your team is fishing an event since OWDC law regarding length limit changes Sept of 2022.
· There will be a courtesy bump station. Short fish will result in a loss of said fish and the teams largest fish. Teams bag becomes official once handed over to the tournament staff.
· Teams MUST use official weigh in bags provided. Any fish brought to the scales not in official weigh in bag will result in that teams disqualification.
· There may not be more than 5 bass in the live well. Must cull immediately!
· Dead bass will result in a half of pound penalty. A dead bass cannot be weighed for big bass award. YOU MAY NOT CULL A DEAD BASS.
· All boats must have a working live well and there will be a live well check each morning of an event.
· There is no horsepower rule but may not exceed the rating plate set by boat manufacture.
· Minimum boat length will be 14 feet
· No stick steer or jet driven, air/fan boats, kayaks or inflatable style boats are allowed.
· Navigational lights must be on until reaching your first fishing area. If lights do not work you will be held till all other boats have left.
· Life jackets must be worn anytime the boat is on pad/plane. Boat driver must have kill switch hooked up.
· All bridges on Lake Eufaula are idle areas.
· Eufaula Cove will be off-limits (draw a straight line from the rock jetty straight across). You must be able to get the area to fish by boat from Eufaula Cove.
· Any area deemed off limits or no fishing by Local, State or Federal Law are also off limits.
· Single rod and reel use only (NO TROLLING) Sand Bass Tournament will be the 5th of August!
· Artificial bait (no live, frozen or dead bait allowed in the boat during the event) pork style baits are permissible.
· No snagging of fish
· Sight/bedding fish must hooked inside of the mouth.
· Landing net may be used to assist landing a fish.
· Neither person can leave the boat to assist landing a fish
· May not fish within 50 feet of another contestant who’s trolling motor is out of water and their boat is anchored.
· If mechanical issue occurs team may be towed in by another event participants or TOWBOAT US. If towing is not an option one team member may ride to weigh in with another event participant will their fish separated from other team.
· Be Kind and show great sportsmanship!
· Teams/participant/contestant or families will not hold Eufaula Conservation & Fishing Association, Flamingo Fish & Marine, Flamingo Outdoors, any sponsors, volunteers or staff liable and each participant understands the risk involved by registering and competing in the event(s).
All decisions are final from the tournament direct and board of the event. .
